During the scan, sound wave vibrations enter your body and then echo back and create the ultrasound image. These vibrations are so gentle that they cannot be felt, do not give off radiation and have no known harmful effects.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-391e235 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"391e235\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">What Happens During the Scan?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9c9be46 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"9c9be46\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>A Sonographer, a health care professional specially trained in the use of Ultrasounds, will apply a gel to the skin over the area being examined. The gel maximizes contact between the transducer (a microphone-like device) and the skin, thereby producing high-quality images. The Sonographer then passes the transducer over the targeted area and obtains the desired diagnostic data.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-fe48b68 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"fe48b68\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Abdominal, Aorta, and  Pelvic Ultrasound<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-611d5ec elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"611d5ec\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>An Abdominal, Aorta, and\/or Pelvic Ultrasound is used to assess organs in the abdomen and pelvis for pain and other symptoms including kidney stones, liver disease, gallstones, other inflammatory diseases. A Color Doppler ultrasound is a separate analysis that measures the arterial and venous blood flow into and out of the internal organs being examined.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d0604fc elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"d0604fc\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Carotid Ultrasound<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-abc3cbc elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"abc3cbc\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>A Carotid Ultrasound is a non-invasive, painless test that uses high-frequency sound waves to image the neck arteries. It helps to determine if a lump is benign or requires a biopsy, and can show if a Thyroid nodule has grown over time. An Ultrasound is also used to guide the thin needle during a Thyroid biopsy. An Echocardiogram uses sound waves to create pictures of your heart\u2019s chambers, valves, walls and the blood vessels (aorta, arteries, veins) attached to your heart.
